So if you're wondering...
How old are you?
Right now I am 22.
Are you otherwise employed?
Right now I work a part-time job while finishing my bachelors degree (May 2012) and I'll continue this job while I get my post-bachelors applied digital geography and GIS certificate.
When did you start getting into nail polish?
I first started growing my collection in 2007. I have always been a sporty person but I feel like nail polish is my way of keeping in touch with my feminine side. Once I took off my gel nails in 2011, I felt like I couldn't go without polish so ever since then I have always had my nails painted.
What other hobbies do you have?
I love nature and animals. So naturally I love going camping. As I said, I'm really into sports so being Canadian I love hockey, soccer, baseball, and golf. I love staying fit and so I run quite a few road races as well.
What is your favorite top coat?
I am a real sucker for fast dry top coats. I really like the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat because not only is it really effective, it's also reasonably cheap. Over glitter polishes, I use two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-in-1 Treatment and then a coat of the Insta-Dri so that the finish is absolutely smooth.
What is your favorite base coat/nail treatment?
I have two main nail treatments I use. My go to nail treatments are Sally Hansen Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-in-1 Treatment and Sally Hansen Triple Strong Nail Fortifier. My current job requires me to have my hands in cleaning solutions and wet all day so my nails really suffer. These treatments are a lifesaver. I also really like Essie's First Base Base Coat. Essie is what got me into nail polish and I've been a follower ever since.
Where do you buy your polish?
I buy most of my polish at either Shopper's Drugmart, Loblaws, Sally's Beauty, or Trade Secret. I like to find nail polishes in the oddest of places and I'm willing to try them all.
What kind of nail polish remover do you use?
I generally use inexpensive nail polish remover such as Joe Fresh regular nail polish remover. For cleaning up afterwards I use pure acetone available at the drugstore.
What type of cuticle oil do you use?
Right now I'm using Essie Smooth Trick. When you're hands are always wet and in contact with harsh cleaning supplies, cuticle oil is a must.
Have fun primping!
